Careers in statistics are growing rapidly.   Our world is data driven.   Open a newspaper, magazine, or webpage and statistics are everywhere.   Where do you think all this information comes from?    Many former students have returned to tell  me that they use statistics in their jobs more than any other mathematical concepts they had learned through the years.  

Statistician is the #8 rated job in 2010 (#3 in 2009) by CareerCast   A statistician has the following job description:   Tabulates, analyzes, and interprets the numeric results of experiments and surveys.

The #1 listed job is Actuary, a job described by the following:   Interprets statistics to determine probabilities of accidents, sickness, and death, and loss of property from theft and natural disasters.
